We have all the number candles except 3 and 5, and our 4 has been used so much, it no longer has any wick left, so we had to improvise. We put a zero in there for good luck. Hopefully Billy had a good birthday.
I’ve been doing more writing, trying to pursue a dream I’ve been neglecting, and it’s taking me into my parents’ childhood. I know so little about them, really, and I am making a lot of it up based on the little shreds of details I do know. It’s a strange feeling, constructing a life that…
Our first Christmas decorations are up and the countdown is officially on.
Pinot FINALLY got a haircut today. What a relief for everyone. He hates the car but loves the sunset.
We spent two hours at Java Game Haus playing Exploding Kittens, Christina’s favorite game. Apparently it wore her out.
I started making progress on this today and then I ran out of thread. I think I almost bought it when I bought all the supplies for this project last year and then decided not to because I already had some. Little did I know I only had like five feet of thread on the…
Thanksgiving is over, and Christina is full-on into Christmas mode. The countdown is on!
Billy made an awesome dinner, including one of the juiciest turkeys I’ve ever had. All in all a pretty good Thanksgiving. Could definitely have gone very differently this year, and I’m kind of glad it didn’t.
Robin made these beautiful cupcakes from scratch for tomorrow’s dinner, including the chocolate leaf decorations. They taste great, too. I’ll definitely visit her bakery.
We’re working on teaching Pinot how to roll over. He’s struggling a little with down, which is the cornerstone piece. He is completely unmotivated if food isn’t involved, which isn’t terribly surprising. But after a few days, I think he’s more or less got it. I think roll over will come quickly from here. Christina’s…
I finally finished weeding the garden. And the hibiscus is blooming! That’s about all I really got done today, which is slightly disappointing. My current vacation isn’t even over and I’m already counting down the days until my next vacation. There’s something wrong with that, right?
Christina and I retraced my route to Saturday’s chorus concert trying to find the music folder that I had set on top of my car before driving downtown to sing. Alas, it has gone wherever music folders go when people do such things, because we couldn’t find it. The day was not all lost, though,…
Robin keeps going through these drawing spurts and I am trying to take advantage of as many of them as I can. We went to Bob Evans for breakfast while Christina was at dance and we did some drawing. There are some proportions off in this one, but it’s one of the few drawings I’ve…
I took the day off from work today and did some writing, a little shopping, and performed with the symphony. It needs to stop raining already.
I took some time to call people I haven’t spoken to in a while. I spent an awful lot of time talking about myself. All I have to say is people were very patient with me, and not bad at sounding interested.
