The exhaustion is palpable. The pharmacy FINALLY filled my prescription, so hopefully I start seeing improvement in the next day or two. In the meantime, I’m spending as much time with my eyes closed as possible.

I was furious tonight when I came home from cheer and saw that no one had left any dinner for me or Robin. Billy and Christina ate last night’s leftovers and left us two halves of a chicken breast with no sides. So I used our nacho meat to make spaghetti and meat sauce… which we didn’t get to eat until 9:45pm. He said he was going to make mussels… no idea what happened to that plan. He was already in bed when we got home, so I couldn’t kill him. Tomorrow.

Just an average day today. Did not have a great run this morning… gave up after ten minutes. I have decided that I’d rather enjoy running than hate it, so I’m not pushing myself too much. Some days are definitely easier than others. I did do a total of 20 minutes in splits, so it wasn’t a total loss. The rest of the day was fine. Billy made awesome cheeseburgers for dinner. I took a shower, which is always life altering. Did some crossword puzzles. Nothing special, really, but not a bad day.

We put up Christmas lights today and I almost died. Apparently I stepped on the home of some very angry ants. I have approximately 35 bites that occurred in a matter of seconds. I had such a violent reaction that I almost passed out right there on the front lawn. I am in so much pain, far worse than when I broke my ankle and needed nine pins and a plate to repair it. But… the house is beautiful. Also the moon got in on the action. Thank you, moon.

The kids learned what a VCR is today. It took a few minutes, but they also figured out how to tune my clock radio, which my dad gave me in 1990, to their favorite station. Kids are so entertaining.

I so wanted to stop and get a proper shot of this beautiful moonrise, but there was nowhere to pull over. I had to settle for this red-light photo instead. It was really beautiful. Dang the endless driving – although I’ll admit that without it, I’d have missed this view altogether. I guess sometimes you take what you can get. And I’m grateful for it.

The clouds have finally passed on and we are treated to a(n almost) full moon. First time in two weeks that we’ve seen sun.

Robin had an amazing cheerleading practice today. It was almost two hours of solid conditioning, and it was HARD WORK. He had them doing squats while carrying their teammates on their backs. Robin kept looking up at me in disbelief, but she did it. The only thing she didn’t manage to do was a back handspring. He wanted her to do it without help and she stood there for a two full minutes trying to psych herself up and never did it. She was holding her own until that point, and left practice pretty miserable. She’ll get it, even if she needs to stand there for two hours to make herself do it. Once she sees she can do it, it’ll be easier. I’ll keep sending her good vibes.

I went outside to take out the recycling and saw this beautiful almost-full moon behind these dramatic wispy clouds, so I went inside to get my camera, and the moon almost immediately disappeared behind a big fat dark cloud. I did get the last few moments of its glow and the pleasure of having seen it at all before it disappeared completely, so not a total loss.

Robin did her first tumbling in about a month. Her back handspring needs a little work. She landed on her face more times than not… but she’ll get it. It was good to see her back at it.

I didn’t realize there was a full moon until a cameraperson showed it at Yankees Stadium during the game. It was so bright, almost like daylight. Perfect night for werewolves.

Best part of my day was having all four of us eating together at the pizza place between Christina’s two dance classes. Good conversation and good food, good combination.

I re-watched Apollo 13 after admiring the beautiful crescent moon tonight. Our universe is incredible. From atoms to galaxies and everything in between. And pizza. Do not forget pizza.

After a few days of intense activity, I got knocked flat out with a cold. All I want is sleep and then more sleep.

I feel like I’m running a marathon while balancing a watermelon on my head. I’ve already made it 20 miles, but the last six miles feel almost impossible. And people keep tossing tennis balls at me, asking me to juggle them while I run. I am enjoying the view and I always appreciate a challenge, but holy hamsters, I am tired. I hope there’s a pina colada at the finish line.
