Christina’s dance performance at Deck the Chairs was cancelled thanks to weather, but the studio was able to find space for them to perform for their families tonight anyway. It was adorable! I love watching my kids do their thing.

Got our Christmas lights up before this weekend’s storm. Also bought new mattresses and put up stockings and added tinsel to the tree. This week wasn’t everything I wanted it to be, but it could have been a lot worse.

I’ve had my eye on this reindeer costume for Pinot for weeks. I finally broke down and bought it. It is a little disappointing. The hood with the reindeer antlers doesn’t stay up and it blinds him because it covers his eyes. Also the antlers don’t stand up. It took forever to get this crappy…

It was a crazy evening. Christina’s dance class was extended to 8:30, which is when Billy leaves for work and I’m bringing Robin’s teammate home from practice. So I was all set to tell the dance studio I’d be there late, when Robin’s teammate let us know she was sick and not going to practice.…

Robin had a tough day that involved a cell phone that went to a school event it was not allowed to go to. I am trying to separate making bad decisions from being a bad person for her with minimal success. I hope someday it sinks in. That day was not today.

I joined Christina on her field trip to St. Augustine today and it was a lot of fun! I learned a lot, including that I know next to nothing about the city of St. Augustine. I came home and passed out with a fever. Guess I caught whatever’s been going around. Darn.

Today’s cheer performance wasn’t as good as yesterday’s, and the competition was just too tight. The girls came in third place out of three teams. No one’s favorite day, but Robin came out smiling and that is how I know how much she loves cheer.

Robin’s first competition of the year. I was thoroughly amazed at how well they did, and then another parent came and told me how disappointed they were with their performance. Apparently there was a bobble and a drop that I completely missed. Shows what I know! When I compare this first performance of the season…

Made it to Orlando for Robin’s first cheer competition of the season. Christina’s kids menu had a place to draw a picture. The instructions said that the fisherman had reeled in a whopper but couldn’t identify what it was. Christina was to draw the catch. Well, she drew a cheeseburger. Because, you know, whopper.

I stayed up until 1:30am to finish the last hat. I know no one will appreciate what I put into them. I literally spent the equivalent of a second full time job on them over the last week. And it’ll probably bring in like $30 for the PTA. Whatever. At least my volunteer hours are…

So much endless knitting. I’m finishing up my fifth hat in five days, which includes full work days and dance class and cheer practice. I hope to get one more done before Friday’s deadline. And then if I don’t make one for Christina, she may move out.

The kids said they understood the word, “reverent,” but I’m not sure they did. Christina threw a tantrum before Robin’s spiral, so she went barefoot. I’m either the best or the worst mom for allowing that to happen. To be honest, I was just grateful she was in the car at all.

Sometimes things hit me suddenly without warning or explanation. But I kept on knitting hats for Kindermarket.

Bought and put up our Christmas tree. The girls participated in the beginning but then lost interest, which kind of ruined it for me. Decorating the tree was always one of my favorite parts of Christmas, and it was always a thing we did together as a family. It makes me so sad that it…

I got this reminder a couple days ago that I signed up to make hats for the Kindermarket at school, and they were due yesterday. Oops. I’m on a mission to make as many hats as humanly possible by Monday. In two days I’ve made three. It’s something.
