I feel like I have finally turned a corner on this flu. I made it out to pick up my new sunglasses and even worked half a day. It never felt so good to be at work. It feels so good to be alert again.

January 30
I dragged Christina to pick up my new sunglasses after school. Billy texted me along the way asking if I was out getting my new sunglasses and Christina was mystified as to how he knew where I was going. So I asked him and he said it’s because he has a pencil and takes notes. Made her laugh. I realized yesterday that I love when people laugh. It fills me up a little. So thanks for that, Billy.

December 7
I stayed up until 1:30am to finish the last hat. I know no one will appreciate what I put into them. I literally spent the equivalent of a second full time job on them over the last week. And it’ll probably bring in like $30 for the PTA. Whatever. At least my volunteer hours are in for the year. And if you think I’m done making hats… no. Christina has been bugging me for one since the first one I made. So one more in the works. Also will not be appreciated, but that’s the story of my life. I do this stuff anyway.

I had plans to do stuff today, but then somehow I ended up watching tennis, sewing and playing Harry Potter for the whole entire day, except for the 15 minutes I took to walk around the block with Christina, Jackson and Pinot. I really need to do better if I want vacation halo to last.

April 14
Christina’s on fire tonight. We went out to eat and she didn’t stop talking for two straight hours. Tonight’s Christina-ism: “I’m a tailgater because I have a tail and I’m a gator.” Comes close to a couple weeks ago when she started choking and stopped to catch her breath with her hands up just to say, “My mind is full of knowledge.” This child is destined for greatness if her public speaking skills continue at this level.

March 10
Today was tough. Lots of unexpected tears. I’m exhausted from the exertion of it. But I bought a shit-ton of shoes and some pizza and I guess spending money I don’t have has its value too.
