Sha’lyce requested a stuffie and I am happy to oblige. This little girl is knitting up so cute, but my fingers are numb from using the teeny tiny needles. It’s worth the pain. Now of course Robin and Christina each want one too. I’m making theirs with bigger needles.
The dreaded 10pm selfie. This is a sign that I need to get out more. Will definitely do so tomorrow.
Another seven-hour day with another hundred dances. Today Christina was in one of them. They looked great! Their production piece came in second place for the first time this season (it’s been first at every other competition). The dance that beat them was very good. And now it’s a downhill ride to recital and then…
It was a looooong day at dance competition. Seven hours and almost 100 dances – of which Christina was in two. Her dances won second and fourth place, as well as an overall excellence award. Really proud of her!
Things on my mind tonight: potential career moves, ice cream, cheerleading tryouts, tomorrow’s dance competition, knitting bunnies, baseball.
I spent some time on the back patio with Billy after dinner, just talking. I didn’t realize how much I missed that. I think I talked a little too much about myself, but it’s at least a start. We’re both feeling our way through this.
Best part of my day was having all four of us eating together at the pizza place between Christina’s two dance classes. Good conversation and good food, good combination.
People say you should stop to smell the roses. Right now it’s time to stop and smell the jasmine.
I am hopeful that Billy and I turned a corner in counseling today. What a topsy turvy session we had. But we did establish our favorite woodwind instruments. So there’s that.
This amaryllis has been in our backyard for a couple years and has never bloomed. But here it is now and it is happy as a clam. Thank you, amaryllis.
Robin’s team came in 21st place, which I think is pretty incredible. Hers was one of only 68 teams nominated worldwide to even compete in this tournament, and only 34 of those teams made it to finals. And then in finals, she was ranked in the top 25 IN THE WORLD. It was a long…
As seems to be the case at these things, we went from facing the end of the road to world championships finals in a matter of hours. The girls had a bobble in their performance, but somehow the judges missed it and they ended up hitting zero and moving on to Day 2. Big deal!!…
I got another flat tire today, my third in four months. Got it replaced in time to drive to Orlando, yay! Now for a good night’s sleep before our big day tomorrow!
Robin had an Allstar Worlds sendoff performance tonight and all the girls left in tears as though they’d never see each other again. In two days.
