I had to do math today, which is always risky. Somehow every time I work something out mathematically, when I try to recreate it later, I get a totally different answer. I can only hope I’m at least close. Otherwise the day was kind of a blur. I got so engrossed in work that everything else kind of blended into the background. We had shrimp tostadas for dinner and that’s always yummy. Robin cleaned the kitchen, and that will make tomorrow morning easier. It’s 9:33 but I’m pretty much ready for bed now.

January 16
It was another crazy day at work. So many meetings and so little accomplished when there is so much to do. I had to settle for yet another unfinished task when I left for dance. When we got home, we ate dinner in front of the TV, watching Penn State wrestling. You always know who is going to win, but somehow it’s entertaining anyway. By the time that was over, I was exhausted. I simply cannot keep up.

And the bunny is finished. I had a lot of fun making her. Also today Robin and I went to a cheer team pool party and Christina and I cooked dinner together. Nice weekend.

Bunny is getting close. Her dress is about halfway done and then she’ll be ready to mail. Also today we met Rosina and Dion for dinner. It’s so nice to go out with friends.

Sha’lyce requested a stuffie and I am happy to oblige. This little girl is knitting up so cute, but my fingers are numb from using the teeny tiny needles. It’s worth the pain. Now of course Robin and Christina each want one too. I’m making theirs with bigger needles.

In trying to stay on top of things, I booked our hotel for this weekend’s dance competition back in October. Turns out being on top of things is a myth because I booked the wrong nights and ended up losing the reservation, which I didn’t find out until six hours before we were to check in. We got very lucky that they had a room available after I realized my mistake. And we even have a balcony overlooking the Wawa parking lot! Upgrades all around.

October 25
I’m just processing all of what’s happened in the last week. It’s a lot. But life goes on.

I got Robin this puppy and added some lavender oil to try to help soothe her anxiety. He looks just like Pinot, her favorite living being on Earth. I think it works somewhat. I thought for sure she’d name him Pinot Jr., but she calls him Bob. In her book, everyone is Bob. It makes her smile. That’s all that matters.

Today Mom would have been 76. Even though she didn’t want to be here, the world was better for having her. I wish things had been easier. I hope she is at peace. I’m still picking up the pieces behind her.

January 6
Today was punctuated with Robin’s incessant hiccups, belting 80s music at work, and driving Pinot crazy. So then he molested his unicorn.
