My life is revolving around the bunny making. It now has a head, a face, two ears, two arms and half a body. It made waiting to have my car serviced and Christina’s dance classes pass by quite quickly. But the bunny butt will have to wait until tomorrow.

I spent some time on the back patio with Billy after dinner, just talking. I didn’t realize how much I missed that. I think I talked a little too much about myself, but it’s at least a start. We’re both feeling our way through this.

Best part of my day was having all four of us eating together at the pizza place between Christina’s two dance classes. Good conversation and good food, good combination.

I think we managed to make things right with Robin. At least she’s speaking to me again.

I re-watched Apollo 13 after admiring the beautiful crescent moon tonight. Our universe is incredible. From atoms to galaxies and everything in between. And pizza. Do not forget pizza.

It was a pretty typical day, with the bonus of talking to a friend I don’t talk to enough. I laughed a lot. Maybe too much. And stayed up too late. But it was good.

Back to work today and back to work indeed. By 8:00 I had both kids not speaking to me. I put Pinot on the market for five cents and got no takers. I think it’s time for another day.

After a few days of intense activity, I got knocked flat out with a cold. All I want is sleep and then more sleep.

We are here in Atlanta for Cheersport, which is apparently the biggest cheerleading event on Earth. I’m excited about everything except waking up at 4:45am.

I feel like I’m running a marathon while balancing a watermelon on my head. I’ve already made it 20 miles, but the last six miles feel almost impossible. And people keep tossing tennis balls at me, asking me to juggle them while I run. I am enjoying the view and I always appreciate a challenge, but holy hamsters, I am tired. I hope there’s a pina colada at the finish line.

I taught Christina how to moon someone today. She thought it was absolutely HILARIOUS. What have I done?

We wrapped up Christina’s birthday party this morning with french toast and bacon. I think the girls finally fell asleep around 5am. Then Robin went to a movie with a friend. I did some sewing and all in all it was a pretty good day.

Jupiter. This week has been a test of patience. I have been trying for almost a week to get my tire replaced, but no one will acknowledge my existence when I call the dealership. I have been leaving unanswered voicemails for days. Our heat broke down at the coldest point of the winter so far, resulting in indoor temperatures in the low 60s for days while we waited for a technician to come. The problem? A tripped circuit breaker. No charge. Walgreens filled two prescriptions I never asked for and don’t need, but never bothered filling the one I did ask for and do need, which I didn’t find out until arriving to pick it up. And then there is the joy of dealing with people who simply cannot accept their own humanity and instead blame all their shortcomings on me and my team at work. Looking for bright spots like Jupiter, here, though, I see a really important process overhaul at work that came almost entirely from my own head and is coming together even better than I imagined it (with many sincere thanks to the people who understood my vision and brought it to life). I see Exploding Kittens and a ten-minute phone call with Siggi wherein we did nothing but complain and it felt amazing. And now we have heat. Slowly this week is coming back together.

Stood in line for 45 minutes at the Post Office this morning and ended up being an hour late for work. And yet so many people are out of the office that I still got two days’ worth of work done anyway. Then spent the usual two hours driving around Jacksonville, made some yummy shrimp fried rice, and now football and Sam Adams and bed.

Got our Christmas lights up before this weekend’s storm. Also bought new mattresses and put up stockings and added tinsel to the tree. This week wasn’t everything I wanted it to be, but it could have been a lot worse.
