Coming along after a rough start. I really hope it fits, although I have a sinking feeling that it may be a little tight. I really didn’t understand the measurements in the pattern diagram. Oh well. It’ll fit somebody.

I think in 6th grade you don’t call them play dates anymore, but I took Robin to hang out with her friend at Barnes & Noble today. It was my first time meeting her and she seems pretty awesome. I’m happy Robin has a friend like her. Also, Barnes & Noble was jumping! I don’t know how they compete with Amazon, though I will say there’s something tantalizing about touching books before you buy them. I think books even have a scent. I bought some things for some people and I’m glad I went.

We’re trying something new. I hope it helps Robin find her voice and her smile. Because both are beautiful.

I love the iPhone night goggles… what amazing detail in the night shots!

It’s been like five minutes since I last took a picture of Pinot. Lest anyone feel deprived.

Wednesdays are a marathon. Between work, dance, cheer, dinner, and literally hours of driving between them all, it is a lot. If you love me, don’t ever ask me to do anything on a Wednesday.

It looks like I might have to suck it up and practice the music for our next chorus rehearsal. We got yelled at today for not knowing the music and man, it felt crappy. I mean, in 10+ years I have never taken the time to learn the music at home, but tonight is the first time I felt guilty for it. So we’ll see.

Today was a lot of putting one foot in front of the other, trying to get stuff done instead of putting it off, with approximately a 72% success rate.

Today was my last NAMI class for this year. I’m so glad I get to do this. It’s as good for me as it is for the people taking the class. But it will be nice to have my Sunday afternoons free again.

I dragged the children against their will to walk in the name of mental health. Robin didn’t say much, but the BODY LANGUAGE. I wish I’d taken a picture of the death stare. In the end it wasn’t so bad. The weather was great and they mostly suffered in silence. It’s the first year since I’ve been teaching that I actually made it to the walk. I’m glad I did.

Today was the Festival of Courage at school. Robin has aged out of the performances, but Christina played xylophone for her grade’s musical performance. This is the seventh year we’ve celebrated the Festival of Courage and it’s just another reason to love their school. Plus there were live dragons involved.

I feel like I am always buying the kids shoes. How do they go through them so quickly? Why are they so expensive? Damn it, shoes!

378 stitches, over an hour of knitting just to cast on. This sweater is going to be a monster to knit. It better fit. I am very uncertain about the size. The pattern says all measurements are in cm, but if that’s the case, then the large size has a 17-inch bust, which simply can’t be right. But then if the bust size is shown in inches, the smallest bust size is 40 inches and the largest is 69 inches. Who has a 69-inch bust size?? Neither measurement seems right. I am going with medium and we’ll see what happens, I guess. I’ll be sad if it doesn’t fit, but I’m not sure what else to do other than go for it.

Back to chorus this week. I am out of shape! But I am here.
