It was a pretty quiet day, which was welcome. Christina’s and my new paddleboards arrived today and I officially put in for a day off next week to go out with her. I finished my latest knitting project, which means I officially have nothing in the works at all. I’m even almost done with my crosswords, too, just half a puzzle left. What am I going to do with myself for the rest of my life??

Christina is getting ready for fifth grade graduation, so tonight we looked at my fifth grade yearbook. Is it sad that I looked through it and only felt rage for all the many people who were so shitty to me back then? I’m so glad my kids have not had the experience I did at their age. And I’m thinking about burning my yearbooks.

Tonight we played That Escalated Quickly, and Christina came up with some hairbrained response that left Billy wrecked with uncontrollable laughter. I truly thought I was going to have to take him to the emergency room, he was laughing so hard. Poor Christina was so embarrassed that she actually left the house, but we won the round, it all worked out, all is good. This is why I love family game night.

I actually took some time after everyone went to bed to do some writing. The outcome of this presidential election is baffling to me. There has to be some way of making sense of it. I think that no matter how much I write, I will never really figure it out. In thousands of years, we humans have gotten nowhere.

Had a nice team event at work and got to see Christina’s play in the Festival of Courage. This will be our last one! The check-out procedure afterwards was a disaster and I felt so horrible for Ms. LaTanya, who was getting reamed out by multiple parents, as though she wasn’t sitting up front all by herself, surrounded by a mob or parents trying to pick up their children. She was literally in tears and parents were still yelling at her. How rude and inconsiderate do you have to be? I was angry and wanted so much to give her a hug. I hope that guy is happy with himself.

I wasn’t seen for my 11:15 doctor’s appointment until 12:45, at which point she told me that the abnormal test results she’d made me come in to discuss were a false positive and not a concern. And yet she ordered an additional test anyway, just to complete the irritating circumstance. I like her a lot, so I can forgive her, but gahd, so annoyed!

Today was an endless marathon of activity. Drop off kids at school, physical therapy at gym, treadmill “run,” doing dishes, work, cleaners came, pick up kids from school, drive Christina to dance, drive Robin to cheer, make dinner, pick up Christina from dance, pick up Robin from cheer. Typical Monday.

I tried to steal time where I could get it today with marginal success. It might be time for more drastic measures. Whatever they are.

My office hasn’t been this organized in months, maybe longer. I finally rehung photos that fell off the wall months ago and cleaned out my yarn stash. You can see my coffee table, craft tray and desk again. I’ve trimmed all the dead leaves off my plant. You can open my closet doors. I’ve finished editing my photo shoot from last month and organizing my website. I am ripping through my to-dos like confetti. I’m going to need some new to-dos.

The kids had the day off, thanks to the storms coming through. The storm wasn’t too bad by us, but it did rain pretty hard. The rest of the day was pretty low-key. I need some new projects to work on.

I spent some time shopping online using the massive store credit I have from earlier this year when my account was hacked and some jerk bought some expensive appliance on my card but the store wouldn’t give me a refund. I guess this is the best possible outcome of that.

Chucky and my two little sea birds are getting along just fine, thanks. Also today was insane at work.
