Had a somewhat frustrating day of back to back everything with no time in between for anything. But I got a shower and a tunafish sandwich and time with Christina, so there were at least a few moments to enjoy.

We put foil on the seats around the kitchen table so that Pinot wouldn’t jump onto it and lick it, and it was working well for months. Until now. He found a way to bypass the foil and jump on the table… but then couldn’t figure out how to get back down. I heard him whining and found this. I do not feel sorry for him. Little lovable bozo.

Today was one of those days that was not unlike many other days. Work, dance, cheer, dinner, repeat. It’s hard to fit in much else.

The team behind the team. Envy came in third today, missing second place by a hair. Every competition they get a little bit better and a little bit closer. They really held their own against some very good teams this weekend. I hope they are as proud as I am.

Robin’s team looked great to me, as usual. We’ll see what happens against Top Gun, which accounts for the three other teams in their division. Those people are no joke. We also got to meet up with Q, which was a real treat for me! All in all, not a bad day.

It’s another cheer weekend and this weekend we’re in West Palm Beach. Billy stayed home, so it’ll be a girls weekend for us. So far we’re living it up with calzones and Hershey bars. Doesn’t get better than this, folks.

Back to work today and back to work indeed. By 8:00 I had both kids not speaking to me. I put Pinot on the market for five cents and got no takers. I think it’s time for another day.

Today was better than yesterday, but I still needed a day off to sleep the rest of it off. The biggest thing is to be healthy for this weekend’s cheer competition. The schedule is taking more out of me than I expected. I’m enjoying it, but will be grateful when it’s over. At least for this season.

After a few days of intense activity, I got knocked flat out with a cold. All I want is sleep and then more sleep.

Without traffic, we made it home from Atlanta in an hour’s less time and used a quarter of a tank less gas to do it. This was a good trip, but I am exhausted. Four more days until the next one.

In two days I walked almost 15 miles, half of it carrying Robin’s cheer bag full of bricks. I didn’t work this hard on my backpacking trip in Virginia with Siggi five years ago. In the midst of everything, poor Robin had a full-out panic attack when she thought her team left to perform without her. It took an hour to get her calm again. In the end, both teams came in ninth place, which wasn’t last, but close to it. The odds were stacked against them because the other teams were double their size and they could do harder stunts. Regardless of where they placed, they looked amazing to me, especially Robin’s core team. I’m so proud of them for coming to such a big event and bringing their all to it. What they did is amazing.

It was a long day of cheer performances that started at 4:45am and only just wound down, almost 15 hours later. Robin’s team looked great (to me, at least), but they are competing against teams twice their size doing stunts they can’t even attempt due to their size. These kids are amazing, and doing amazing things. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m enjoying this. So proud of Robin.

We are here in Atlanta for Cheersport, which is apparently the biggest cheerleading event on Earth. I’m excited about everything except waking up at 4:45am.

I feel like I’m running a marathon while balancing a watermelon on my head. I’ve already made it 20 miles, but the last six miles feel almost impossible. And people keep tossing tennis balls at me, asking me to juggle them while I run. I am enjoying the view and I always appreciate a challenge, but holy hamsters, I am tired. I hope there’s a pina colada at the finish line.

I’m always moderately surprised when one of my ideas actually works out as I’d planned it. These valentines seemed to be a hit for the girls and I had fun making them. Now that I’m done crafting for Valentine’s Day, maybe I’ll have time to do some writing again. Maybe?
