I finally got all the medications I’ve been waiting for – picked up six of them this morning. How is it possible that I need that many medications? Sigh. The rest of the day was pretty blah. The kids did well on their state tests, and now they’re pretty much done for the year. Christina had dance and Billy made pork loin. Christina wanted to make cookies but we were out of chocolate chips, so she made peanut butter cookies instead. They were pretty good! I keep ending the day completely wiped out.

I did a 777-second run this morning because why not? Tonight I also had a NAMI class. It went a little better than last week, but still ran right up to the last minute. Billy brought home Huey Magoo’s for dinner and I ate every bite. Wednesdays are so much work right now! I’m exhausted.

We finally got some rain today. It rained all day and the dogs would not go out for anything. Pinot decided to take the opportunity to pee and poop in every room in the house today. It really never stops bothering me, and never starts bothering him. Billy is over it. I don’t blame him.

I have been so exhausted these last couple days, thanks to my medication being out of stock yet once again. It is literally tiresome how often this happens, and the utter devastation I go through with withdrawal when I don’t have it. No one cares. Certainly not the pharmacy. I powered through anyway, and some energy came back around lunchtime. I made flat, pathetic pancakes for dinner. They were just sad. I need a better pancake recipe. But… there were none left over, so they couldn’t have been that bad. And so goes another Monday.

Christina and I wanted to go paddling this morning, but the weather was a little too iffy, so we decided to postpone. Instead we went to lunch at Wicked Barley, which was the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. Then we met up with Colleen and fam for dinner at European Street. I have eaten enough for three Mother’s Days. And I am ready for bed!

I thought I was going to finish digging today, but I didn’t anticipate all the roots I was going to have to deal with. Or the humidity. My clothes were drenched when I came inside. I only have a little left to do, but I promised Christina we’d go paddling tomorrow, so it’ll have to wait. The footprint I dug is making it look real. Assuming I do it right, I think it’ll be beautiful when it’s done. It rained a little today, which is nice. Florida needs rain. Otherwise it was a slow day. We went food shopping – less than an hour from the time I got off the couch to the time I sat back down. Made fish sticks for dinner. Watching the Yankees game and trying not to get too mad at them for giving up the lead. I guess we’re all human.

Couldn’t get my sorry ass out of bed for my run this morning. Guess I’ll have to suck it up on Mother’s Day. Things are going well at work. Took Christina to dance, texted a little with Siggi, sat with Robin while she worked on her Ferrari, watched the Knicks game with Billy. I have to get up early for digging tomorrow, but it’s already 11pm. Where the hell does the time go?

My run this morning was disappointing, thanks to tech failure. It was my first speed run since the winter and the intervals got messed up on my app and none of them were the right length. OH WELL. It was still a run, so not a total loss, and now I’ll just have to do it again next week. A new lawn company came to mow our lawn today but did not do the backyard because they said the gate was blocked. There is literally just a small bucket half filled with gravel that’s there to keep Pinot from digging under the gate. It’s maybe five pounds. How do you just not move it? They did not get paid. Today at work I finally learned what makes preapproved credit offers different from prescreened credit offers and why we apply two totally separate sets of laws to them. I’ve literally worked at this company for 20 years and never knew the difference. I feel enlightened. Took Christina to dance and it was SO HOT in the parking lot. I think it was 94 out and the sun was beating on me, plus wildfire smoke in the air. It was an unpleasant hour, but I refuse to sit in a running car for an hour just for air conditioning. Robin and I worked on her Ferrari Lego set after dinner. It’s starting to look like a car… we have a front end now. I am completely exhausted. I was up late last night and then up early this morning. I got maybe six hours of sleep, which I realize is probably not far from average, but I can’t handle it. It’s early, but I think I’m going to bed.

I started a new NAMI Family to Family class tonight. Wednesdays are a crazy day for the next two months. The class went ok… it’s a really big group and the class ran long, and there were some tech issues, but otherwise not too bad. I’m glad I get to do this.

Robin had a rough afternoon and called me in tears asking to be picked up from school. It may sound weird, but it was nice to see her display emotion and talk about it. I’m sure she has a different take, but in a way I’m relieved. Apparently there is someone in her class who shares little respect for the people around him and he ruined her chance to enjoy some free volleyball time during class. Knowing how much she loves volleyball, I know it was a little more than frustrating. I’m proud of her for reaching out for help, expressing her feelings, and talking about what happened. These are all steps forward. I’ll try not to get too used to it.

Not much to say about today. I went for a run this morning. Had naan pizzas for dinner. Took Christina to dance. Saw some nice tributes to John Sterling on the Yankees broadcast. Kind of a ho-hum day.

My hole is getting pretty impressive and starting to take shape. I measured out the footprint and for the first time I got a sense of what it will look like when it’s done. It’s going to be enormous. But I also think beautiful. I think one more weekend of digging and then I’ll be ready to lay gravel. Then the part I am most worried about, compacting. Billy doesn’t think I can manage a compactor. He might be right, but if I don’t do it, I will be compacting by hand for months. And then after that, I start putting down pavers, a little at a time. That will be the moment of truth for my measuring abilities. Then seal it up, and the fun part: putting up the tent, getting seating for the fire pit, setting up plants, and otherwise making it beautiful. It’s possible I could finish in time for my birthday. If it’s not 100 degrees that day, maybe we’ll celebrate on the patio this year. We’ll see! I’m inching closer.

I had to throw in the towel early today because it started thundering and sprinkling. With bad weather predicted, it didn’t seem worth it to push my luck. Got a good bit done anyway. Christina had dance team auditions for next year and then we went out for lunch at the Loop. Afterwards we went to Myrna’s house to get some Penn State things she is giving away now that she’s moving. Some of the stuff she gave Billy is pretty cool. When we got home, the girls and I went to the mall for some shopping (I am a sucker and bought pretty much everything they asked for) and to get Christina’s ears pierced (second piercing). They look great! Long, busy day!

Christina went to a birthday party tonight at the skate rink and had a good time. They rented the entire site for the party, so it was a nice private event. I made baked pesto chicken and pasta for dinner and even though she ate at the party, Christina came home and had some too. It was pretty yummy.
